TÜBİTAK Award for the Head of AGÜ Computer Engineering Department

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çağrı Güngör, Head of the AGÜ Computer Engineering Department, received the 2017 TÜBİTAK Encouragement Award. He was the only academic from Kayseri to win a TÜBİTAK award in 2017 and was presented the award by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at a ceremony held at the Presidential Complex.

Following evaluations by the TÜBİTAK Science Board, 4 Science Awards and 11 Encouragement Awards were given in 2017 as part of the TÜBİTAK Science, Special, Service, and Encouragement Awards.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Güngör received the Encouragement Award in the field of Engineering Sciences for his internationally distinguished work on wireless sensor networks and communication systems in next-generation communication and smart energy systems.

The award ceremony was attended by AGÜ Rector Prof. Dr. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu, among other dignitaries.

TÜBİTAK Science and Encouragement Awards are granted to Turkish scientists who have made internationally significant contributions to science through their work abroad, or to those under the age of 40 who have demonstrated the potential to make notable international contributions in the future.
